A. zongbayi is a small species forming low dense mats of elliptic mid green glossy leaves heavily spotted with paler green in this cultivar. Having flowered for us with purple-red urn-shaped flowers with purple-white mushroom-shaped stigmas. It is easily grown in a container or in a sheltered spot in the garden, in full shade where the soil cannot get waterlogged. A. fungilliformis is smaller yet similar in leaf, but the perianth lobes of the flowers are white with some of the purple of the perianth's interior infusing the edges.
