Description: A complete contrast to what we have become used to in Korea, with foliage that has broader lamina rounded or caudate at the base, while the lobbing is long-acuminate. Forming a far more shrub-like plant eventually forming a small tree. Turning a bright butter yellow in the autumn, contrasting with the silvery bark. Easily grown in any moist soil in part shade to sun and shelter from drying winds. Hardy to -25C. Our wild collection from Hirosaki area in Aomori in the north of Japan in 2005.
