Description: A wonderful woodland perennial species found growing over a wide area of the Far East, forming slender creeping rhizomes, this varaiety being larger than the type. With hairy stems to around 1m long of up to 10 narrowly oblong alternate leaves terminating in a sizeable panicle of white lily of the valley-like flowers in May to July, followed by fleshy red fruits. Easily grown in partial or full shade in a moisture retentive well drained fertile soil. Syn. Smilacina.
