Description: An evergreen, clump forming rhizomatous shrub with slender upright dark green stems, branched in their upper sections. With small ovate leaf-like cladodes that are actually flattened shoots, that bear a succession of tiny white and purple flowers in winter to spring. Followed by bright red berries on this so-called hermaphrodite form when pollinated. A from we were given by Michel Wikenden of Calley Gardens, who had it from Cambridge Botanic Gardens. Easily grown in almost any site, but best in shade, in most types of soils, a very tough and amenable plant. Ht 1m, Spread 2m.
