Pot Size: 5 litre Price: £45.00 Description: From a collection I gathered in the mountains of western Taiwan in late autumn of 2007 with Finlay Colley and Dan Hinkley. Where this species formed shrubs to around 3 m tall within the forest, with small elliptic evergreen leaves 6-11 cm long. In our garden, the white scented cupped slightly pendant flowers composed of 12-20 narrow petals (perianth segments) are produced September-November for us. Soon followed by star-shaped seed capsules, not to be mistaken for the culinary species which produces the Star Anise. Allied to magnolias and Schisandra, requiring similar conditions to rhododendrons, although more tolerant of lime.
