(Passifloraceae)

Passiflora tarminiana - BSWJ16421

Pot Size: 2 litre (deep)
Price: £25.00
Description:
Only forming a relatively small plant on the exposed Nevada Del Ruiz at 3,500m, in Central Colombia in February of 2024, clambering over some medium sized evergreen shrubs to 3-4m tall. A tendril climber with broad three-lobbed thick textured crenate leaves, which were conspicuously veined. Bearing large spent pale pink pendant flowers, which had been adorned with a frilly white centre and a narrow purple ring, with the petals held at almost right angles to the green tubes. With only a few of the resulting long sausage-shaped fruit still held on that the birds had missed. There is a possibility that there is some hardiness from this provenance, but care should be taken. Best grown in full sun in a well drained fertile soil capable of holding some moisture.
