(Alstroemeriaceae)

Bomarea diffracta - BSWJ16470

Pot Size: 2 litre (deep)
Price: £30.00
Description:
One of the most unusual species we have encountered, only forming relatively small climbing or more of a scandent herbaceous plants to only 1.5m tall. With upright long stems bearing broadly ovate narrowly drip-tipped ribbed leaves. Terminating in long slender peduncles ending in sizeable flared bright pink flowers with white and yellow black-spotted interior petals. Which are eventually followed by seed pods which age to a substantial size, appearing from a distance to mimic a lemon in size and colour. Drainage is all important to keep the tubers dry in winter, we find them best planted under an evergreen shrub to shelter them from penetrating frosts. SHOULD BE AVAILABLE FROM LATE SPRING 2025
