Pot Size: 10 litre Price: £60.00 Description: From seed we collected from a small tree to only 5m tall with a broad canopy growing on a steep sided ravine in the Mt Daisen area of southern Honshu, Japan in 2005. With a stunningly ornamental exfoliating ginger bark and unusually rounded leaves taking on their yellow-red autumnal hues. Previously the Camellia-like white cup shaped flowers had adorned the branches as there was a plentiful crop of the distinctive cone-shaped seed capsules for us to collect. Best grown in a low-lime humus rich soil in light to part shade. For larger open ground plants see our other entry.
