(Solanaceae)

Solanum cf. uleanum - BSWJ16413

Pot Size: 2 litre (deep)
Price: £25.00
Description:
One of our first collections in February 2024 on our way up into Volcan del Ruiz on the Cordillera Central of the Andes in Colombia. Where this semi-evergreen climbing species held a couple of large orange tomato-sized fruit on its woody stems. The seed from these formed young plants with pinnate purple tinted foliage turning darker in sunlight composed of 9 leaflets. Probably best treated as a tender plant as the altitude where we found it was only 2400m, at the edge of dense forest, where it grew is full sun, with its roots in shade. Best grown in full sun in a well drained soil.
