Pot Size: 5 litre Price: £40.00 Description: From a magical area of northern Taiwan, when we were on a field trip with one of the Taiwanese Universities, to the protected area surrounding the fabled Yuan-Yang Lake in the autumn of 1996. Arriving as the morning mist was still rising from the lake, giving the whole surrounding low forest a magical quality, here the trees formed small deciduous much branched specimens only 3-4 m tall with a somewhat fastigiate habit. A species still rare in cultivation, with brown woolly new growths clothed in rhombic leaves held on slender twiggy branches, bearing racemes of axillary or terminal pendent white flowers in profusion, late spring to summer. Best cultivated in an acidic to neutral drained soil in sun-light shade.
