Where its thin rhizomes were spreading on the forest floor with short vertical stems bearing glossy deep-green heart-shaped leaves. Which were a butter yellow at that time, contrasting with the red current-like fruit, that succeeded the small white scented flowers. Easily grown in any type of drained fertile soil in light to dense shade.
