Description:
An unusual semi-climbing slipper flower, which we collected seed of at 3465m high in the Cordillera Central Andean mountains of Colombia in early 2024. Where this semi-evergreen pushed its way through the branches of surrounding shrubs for support (scandent). Bearing perfoliate softly hairy leaves (opposite triangular pairs with the purple stems appearing to grow through them) and sizeable terminal diffuse inflorescences of bright yellow slipper-like flowers backed by large bracts. Best grown in a fertile drained soil in a sheltered site.
