Description:
NEW for 2025 We were as surprised as anyone by our initial encounter with this semi-evergreen sub-shrubby, tendril climber. As it contrasts superbly to E. scaber in its comparatively massive long yellow tubular flowers, enclosed in their lower halves by an inflated pink calyx. Not knowing this species, it took a glance at the more familiar foliage to connect. We were also pleased to find such a treasure at a healthy regularly frosted altitude clambering over small trees and large shrubs. Our second collection of this potentially hardy climber, if suitably sited in a spot where the roots do not get frozen. Best tried in a drained soil that can retain some moisture, probably on the acidic side. Collected on the slopes of Volcán Ruiz, Colombia at 3,800m.
