Description: A most impressive and distinct large perennial species, which appears to be mis-identified in cultivation (usually described as having green-white flowers). With stout slightly hairy stems forming imposing architectural clumps to 2m tall, when established. Clothed in large alternate bipinnate leaves, topped in July-August by large terminal racemes to 50 cm long, of PINK flowers, succeeded by globose purple-black fruit. Originating from one of our seed collections from South Korea close to the eastern border with North Korea in 2001. Easily grown in sun or shade, forming a larger plant in a richer moisture retentive soils. Hardy to -30C.
