Description:
From the slopes of Seonginbong an extinct volcano on the remote island of Ullüngdõ 80 km off the coast of South Korea in 2001. Where the small trees grew to 7m tall in the exposed conditions. With distinctly robust branches bulging at their nodes bearing larger than normal luxurious bright glossy green serrated pinnate leaves which were transforming to an autumnal red. Complimented by a heavy crop of red fruit in small cymes at that time, succeeding the display of small white flowers. Easily grown in any well drained soil in sun or part shade. Was S. commixta aff. v. sachalinensis.
