Pot Size: 20 litre Price: £85.00 Description: A very distinct species which it is easy to see the affinity to Magnolia in, with the large glossy foliage, combined with the unmistakable (star-anise-like) seed capsules renders it easily identifiable even when the scented white to red flowers are not to be seen. Not flowered for us yet, but is stated to be April-June in the wild while fruiting July to October. From a collection gathered with Peter Wharton from a small to medium tree in the forests bordering with China in the very north of Vietnam in 2007. Easily grown in a moisture retentive drained fertile soil in sun to light shade, best sheltered from freezing winds.
