Our second collection of this small evergreen shrub with branches of small ovate-orbicular leaves, which turn a brilliant crimson or orange in autumn. Originating from the slopes of the highest mountain in northern Vietnam, Fansipan, where this shrub only forms a tight ball of evergreen reddened foliage in the starved conditions. Bearing tightly packed cymes of small white flowers in spring followed by yellow fruit ageing iridescent orange-red on long stalks in the autumn, that persist through the winter. Easily grown in any type of fertile well drained soil in sun or part shade. *** *** *** *** *** Only available as mature bare rooted plants during the dormant part of the year.
