Pachysandra axillaris 'Crûg's Cover' - BWJ8032

Pot Size: 1.5 litre
Price: £15.00
Description:
Unlike its Japanese counterpart (P. terminals), this member of the box family has more in common with Sarcococca (Christmas Box), which is renowned for its highly scented winter flowering. This Chinese species has similar scented flowers held on upright short axillary dense spikes, peeping from under the ornamental polished undulate leathery leaves which are borne on short flexuous suckering stems. There is an added bonus with this shade tolerant plant, after the white flowers have finished they are followed by plump red fruit with horn-like protrusions. Forming a marvellous evergreen ground cover in our garden, even under large ewe trees. Originating from one of my seed collections I made in Sichuan, China in 2000. Easily grown in a moisture retentive fertile soil in light to dark shade.
