Description: Forming colonies on Volcán de Santa Maria of densely growing shrubs with slender arching stems 2m long at around 3150m in the autumn of 2004. Where the slender branches bore opposite pairs of ovate leaves and clusters of large seed capsules subtended by large calyx which would have held the scented white sizeable flowers during June to July. Easily grown in any fertile drained soil in sun or shade in a fairly sheltered site.
