Description:
A great little tuberous vegetable, which is fairly good as an ornamental to boot. Forming a sprawling plant with succulent stems bearing trifoliate clover-like foliage with yellow flowers July to August. Forming some red tubers where the stems are in contact with moist soils, as well as below the ground in a similar manner to potatoes. The foliage is also good in salads in small quantities, but contain oxalic acid which should not be consumed in large quantities. Tubers are mostly produced in the latter part of the year, hence leave in the ground for as long as frost can be kept off. Store the tubers in a frost free environment.
