Description:
One of the star shrubs of our garden that probably initiates most comments on garden tours. A Small sparsely (very large that disappear in about a year) spined shrub to 2m tall, with softly spiny rounded green leaves glaucous beneath, which colour up magnificently in the autumn. Bearing good sized pendant clusters of yellow flowers which are followed by large racemes of oblong, dull bright red berries. A form we collected on and endemic to the remote island of Ullüngdõ, South Korea. For well drained soil in good light.
