Description:
A semi-evergreen medium sized shrub we found in our garden after 25 years thinking it was lost. Due to its importance we are relived to be able to offer seedlings. We originally collected it from a 1.5m tall shrub at 2,855m, on the Yushan main trail. After our friend and main contact in Taiwan, who was by then the director of Yushan National Park, had organised a special week long expedition to the summit, to inspect the damage after the Great '99 Earthquake. It was the only specimen seen on the entire trail, which is the very same plant that the ETOT expedition had collected seed from in 1994 and mis-named as E. carnosus. The summit had moved sideways, hence the expedition was aborted early! Syn. E. huangii.
