As it is quite a difficult species to find. Found growing atop a moist wooded cliff top overlooking the north-eastern coast, where they were plentiful as relatively short plants, to around 45 cm tall. Arising from shortly creeping roots, to upright branching stems, bearing linear-lanceolate leaves to 8cm long and terminal clusters of long pendant bright yellow flowers spring into early summer. Followed by rounded blue-black fruit. Best grown in sheltered shade, where the soil does not dry out too much in summer, where the frost cannot penetrate the soil too far.
