Pot Size: 1.5 litre Price: £20.00 Description: A slender climbing/scandent perennial that is a close relative to Lobelia, which it somewhat resembles in flower. Which we collected seed of in the Central Mountains of Colombia on the slopes of Volcan del Ruiz. Here it formed a small climbing plant to 2m tall, on dull purple stems bearing alternate spiralling leaves that were ovate-cordate and conspicuously slender toothed. Bearing bright pink long tubular axillary flowers, similar to some Lobelia, but with long protruding stigma, all on long slender peduncles. Best grown in a sunny position in a moisture retentive soil with protection for the roots in winter. They would experience night frosts for short periods over night in the wild at high altitudes.
